Due to recent ACGME approval to increase the size of our training program, the Johns Hopkins Dermatology Residency Training Program will have at least 2 positions available beginning July 1, 2013. We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated to train in dermatology and are eligible to begin as PGY2 or PGY3 this coming July.

MD Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Dermatology at the University of California Davis: This is a one-year, full-time clinical research fellowship, from July 2013 through June 2014. This fellowship will provide ample opportunities to engage in various aspects of clinical research, including designing research projects, working with the Institutional Review Board, caring for research patients, and writing manuscripts. Highly motivated individuals with strong writing skills interested in clinical research in dermatology are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Boston University School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology, host their monthly Grand Rounds on the first Wednesday of every month.  Patient Viewing starts at 8 am in the Shapiro Building, and discussion of these cases is a 9 am.  Lectures will immediately follow until noon. If you are in the area, please come visit and learn from the interesting case presentations.  (670 Albany Street, Boston, MA)

Congratulation to Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.  They will be having their inaugural DIG meeting this October over an informal meal, in which Dermatology staff can talk to students about why they chose their particular specialties and provide opportunities for student to learn about the field in general.  Already, they are planning to participate at community health events' skin cancer screenings, volunteer at the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland, and provide opportunities for students to participate in shadowing and research opportunities within the field of dermatology.

Reminder to everyone who is submitting abstracts for the annual AAD Gross and Microscopic Symposium.  The deadline for submission for abstracts is August 31, 2012 at 5:00 pm.  Abstracts that are accepted will then be presented at the annual AAD meeting March 1-2, 2013.
